Husband & Wife, Kenny and Melissa, currently based in Charleston, SC. Kenny is originally from Appin, where the lodges are located, and through this venture, we look forward to spending more time in Scotland and sharing the magic of this beautiful land. It is a dream to give to others and we will provide Artists, Instructors, Conservationists, and most importantly, Foster Families with an opportunity to visit this spectacular part of the world. Starting with two cabins The X Pollen Collective will share all that is beautiful in the West Highlands through and overall joie de vivre!
our giving mission
I. The X Pollen Collective will offer up to 4 artists in need of support a residency for one month in the lodges. Perfect to inspire any and all forms of creative expression the lodges offer the peace, and solitude of both the mountains and the sea. We will be providing stocked lodges with WiFi and with funding we will be able to support musicians with quality production services, equipment and support.
II. The X Pollen Collective will donate the lodges for one month to organizations educating in conservation, wellness, and athletic training. Fort William, 30 minutes from Appin, situated at the foot of Ben Nevis (the UK's highest peak) is known as the outdoor capital of the UK. With some of the most beautiful hills, climbing, and nature available, organizations will be able to teach or train a select number of their members.
III. The most important of our 3 initiatives to our Founder Melissa Cole, is the donation of the lodges to under-privileged Foster kids and their foster families. The Foster Care system is widely overlooked and rarely gets the support and attention it deserves. We will be working with several Family Services organizations to give Foster families the opportunity to vacation, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors in ways they rarely could imagine. We want these families to feel appreciated and hope to inspire foster care kids.In the time we are not donating the lodges we will be renting them on Airbnb to pay the mortgage and expenses. We plan to build experiences enriched by the history of the Highlands, the stories of Robert Louis Stevenson, and the magic of Scotland.

Is The X Pollen Collective a registered charity?
The X Pollen Collective is a registered LLC, with 501c3 application in process to support the retreat and philanthropic plans. This process takes up to 18 months for approval.
When can I plan our trip? Are trips guaranteed?
Your trip is guaranteed unless we do not complete our funding. Under those circumstances, you will be immediately notified and you will be refunded. Thexpollencollective.com will have a calendar for booking starting December 15 2023. There will be few, if any, blackout dates. We want to be flexible for all of our guests, and show our appreciation for your support. You can book anytime in the future for the next 4 years, and you do not have to book now.
What are basic provisions?
General Scottish and European goodies- Tea(of course), coffee, milk, sugar, bread, butter, meats, cheeses, breakfast goodies, 1 bottle of wine and whiskey. We will also be happy to help stock with necessary additional provisions based on your preferences.

Airfare is valued at maximum of $1,250 pp and $500 car rental.
